Overview

CJ focuses on strategic intellectual property management for clients ranging from startups to multinational corporations. CJ’s practice spans diverse high-stakes technology sectors, including video streaming standards, wireless standards, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, medical devices, display panels, and semiconductor technologies. He has represented global technology companies in litigation involving multiple patents before the District Court, Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the International Trade Commission (ITC).

CJ has helped build and manage patent portfolios with defensive and monetization value for Fortune 50 technology companies in various technology areas, including AI/ML, semiconductors, Internet of Things (IoT), smartphone applications, autonomous vehicles, computer networks, and network-attached storage devices.

In addition, CJ has drafted freedom-to-operate opinions, counseled on using open-source software, managed IP due diligence for M&A deals, and drafted and negotiated commercial agreements for technology transactions.

CJ is also a co-inventor of an issued U.S. patent.
