Kudos to our many clients, Life Science CEO Connection participants, and LaunchPad incubator members who stepped up to the challenge and pitched before venture capitalists and other influential entrepreneurs and business leaders at the 2024 Innovation Showcase by the San Diego Innovation Council! Held at Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, California, the event featured multiple pitch tracks, including life sciences, tech, clean tech, blue tech, and defense.

Pitching at the event were seven innovative Procopio clients:

• Benchmark Labs, which combines grid level weather data with site-based IoT sensors, and uses their proprietary AI software to provide precise asset-located weather forecasting to optimize renewable energy generation & water allocation, reduce spatial basis risk and maximize financial benefits.
• Innovasion Labs PINC, which is developing proprietary technology that is a quantum leap forward in the $300+ billion electronic and electrochemical rechargeable energy storage device markets. They are represented by M&A Partner Paul Johnson and IP Partner Bob Ramos.
• KPT Labs, which is focused on improving the future of companion animals’ well-being as they are revolutionizing veterinary diagnostics. They are represented by Corporate Associate Helen Goldstein.
• MeCo Diagnostics, the developer of technology that reveals if you’re a match for an FDA-approved, repurposed drug that will soon emerge as a low-cost generic. They are represented by Corporate attorneys Helen Goldstein and Bill Eigner.
• Metropolis IQ, which helps municipalities unlock insights and expand capabilities with tailored reports and real-time data. They are represented by Corporate Partner Bill Eigner.
• Rechargify, developer of EV chargers that are built from the ground up to harness the best source of energy, including solar panels and mobile battery vehicles, at any given time. They are represented by Construction Partner Scott Omohundro.
• Ventoux Biosciences, which recently repurposed a commercially available drug that may lead to a new treatment of fibrosis, in particular Dupuytren’s contracture. They are represented by IP Partner Xiaofan “Frank” Yang.

We were also pleased to see one of our 2024 LaunchPad startup incubator cohort members pitching. Go Digital Fire Prevention! Their technology connects all parts of the fire safety system through its end-to-end digital platform, powering augmented reality tools and deeper insights into equipment, best practices and safety efficiencies.

Finally, this year’s list of pitching companies also included two participants in our Life Sciences CEO Connection peer-to-peer advisory program, both in a 2023 cohort guided by Corporate Partner Paul Johnson:

• F5 Therapeutics, which is harnessing the full potential of protein degradation through identification of novel targets.
• Intrigue Health, with innovative home diagnostics that are empowering patients and health care providers.
