Overview

Michael counsels and assists businesses and business owners, property owners, developers, and contractors in developing cost-effective solutions to complex business, real estate, and construction disputes. He has extensive experience litigating – and favorably resolving – disputes involving commercial contracts, business and corporate matters, commercial landlord-tenant issues, title to property and easements, construction claims, delays and liens, claims of nondisclosure and fraud, and eminent domain and condemnation.

Served as lead trial counsel in multiple business litigation matters arising out of the untimely passing of a San Diego-based entrepreneur, totaling in excess of $100 million in claims.
Served as trial counsel in litigation concerning a $9-billion mixed-use real estate development project in Las Vegas, Nevada, involving $500 million in contractor mechanics lien claims.
Served as co-lead trial counsel and obtained a defense award and a nearly $1-million attorney-fee award in arbitration involving an upscale steakhouse restaurant operation in San Diego, California.
Prosecuted $39 million in delay and defect claims arising out of the construction of the luxury residential component of a mixed-use downtown high-rise in Los Angeles, California.
Prosecuted $30 million in delay and defect claims arising out of the renovation of a high-end boutique hotel in San Diego, California.
Served as lead trial counsel in numerous eminent domain matters in Orange and San Bernardino Counties.
